Glutinous Rice Cake, fried in Hor Fun Style

The other day I visited my aunt and she was preparing to cook the Nian Gow (its glutinous sliced cake), as shown above. She fried the rice cake with Kim Chee............this gave me ideas that this wonderful rice cake can be cooked in many ways!
The only inconvenience to get this rice cake is that its only available in Sheng Siong Supermarket. I've been to Cold Storage, Giant and Shop n Save supermarkets and alas, none was available!
The rice cake was indeed very hard and overnight soaking plus boiling of 20 mins is required to cook the noodles thoroughly.
My family likes the hor fun style and I've added sliced pork, vegetables, fish cake, mushrooms and dried prawns to it.
There are plenty of varieties to cook the rice cake, I shall try the "mee hoon Kueh style" in my next trial and add lots of fried ikan bilis to it!
