    Local desserts - Bubor Terigu & Chendol

    Bubur Terigu
    Served in thick santan (coconut milk)

    Icy cold Chendol
    These are 2 of our local popular desserts - for Bubur Terigu (Bubur is Malay for thick porridge, Terigu is wheat). It is a healthy dessert minus the santan (coconut milk). They are popular with Peranakans and the Malay community here.
    Chendol - I did a research on this dessert and surprisingly it orginates from Japan! It was known as Cendol, a traditional dessert in Japan. Now, it has become a quintessential part of cuisine amongst the multi racial population in South East Asia! What is chendol without the rich consistency of santan??? SHIOK!!!
